At ZapLabs, we care about collaboration. Every individual in our team brings something unique to the table – and we channel that diversity of thought into our work. We’re curious – willing to ask questions, explore perspectives, analyze data, and put our user’s experience at the forefront of our product development process. And we constantly seek out opportunities for improvement – so that we can provide more value to more agents, brokers, and consumers.
Alla Rodina | QA Team Lead
I love the energy in this place now. With many new folks joining the team, there is so much diversity and collective strength…and a sure sign of growth.

Jamie Wilson, ZapLabs President and Chief Executive Officer, is responsible for all aspects of the company’s operations. As a 16-year veteran of ZapLabs, Jamie has helped lead the company toward developing an award-winning website, a robust CRM, and engaging mobile products since his arrival. Before he joined the company, Jamie served as Director of Investment Services at Pension Dynamics Corporations, where he helped develop the company’s technology and marketing strategies. Prior to that, he worked at Prizm Communications, where he leveraged new communications technologies to develop one of the first virtual call centers.
He joined ZapLabs (then called ZipRealty) in 2000, and is the company’s second-longest tenured employee (while he hasn’t been with the company quite as long as Jake Lyman, Jamie does believe his time has been just as well-spent).
Jamie holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Stanford University and a master’s degree in Business Administration from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley. He lives in Lafayette, California with his wife, his three children and his yellow lab, who happens to be the CEO of the household.

In his current role as Chief Product Operations Officer, Jake facilitates the successful delivery of Zap to Realogy Brand Affiliates, and spearheads efforts to engage Zap’s users and stakeholders through customer success, support, marketing, and business development.
A graduate of the University of Colorado Boulder, Jake is ZapLabs’s longest tenured employee. He has worked in almost every department (except engineering) since joining the company in 1999 (approximately three months before Jamie Wilson’s start date, as he likes to remind his colleague).
Jake is a lifelong resident of the San Francisco Bay Area, and lives with his wife and two children in Berkeley.

He also works to define Zap’s overall product strategy with the Product Management team.
Colin got his start in technology building websites on GeoCities’ free site builder in the late 90’s – and the results weren’t always pretty. Despite these humble origins, he’s been an advocate for research-driven prioritization and maximizing user experience at ZapLabs – and our results have been a lot prettier because of that. He also focuses on maximizing business value to engineering effort and well-groomed backlogs.
Colin joined ZapLabs as an intern in 2010 and is still referred to as “the intern” to a healthy degree. He holds a B.A. in Political Science from UC Berkeley, where he lists co-teaching a student-led course on the History of Middle Earth as one of his highest achievements.
